HWR Return To Harbor -

Tacoma, Washington –

9-4-08 – The HayWire Motorsports team and the #68 KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry return to Port Angeles Speedway for the 2008 Limited Late Model Racing Series’ seventh event on September 6th, 2008 at Port Angeles Speedway.

Fresh off the heels of one of the toughest drives of the 2008 LLMRS season, the #68 HayWire Motorsports team return to the site of their first victory looking to set things back the way they were. “Terrible” Tim McDougald hung on for all he was worth to bring home a top-3 finish during the series’ only visit to Yakima Speedway, fighting off a hard charging Jeff Mullins during the closing laps to hold on to the final podium spot. “I knew Jeff had a better car,” said driver “Terrible” Tim McDougald, “We were fighting a loose condition all night and it just kept getting worse. Jeff was real good. It was everything I could do to hold him off. It was a great run, he was very respectful, he ran me very clean. We couldn’t be happier with the result we got there.”

Now the focus is on Port Angeles Speedway, the site of the team’s first win during the 2008 LLMRS season, and the site of team’s first LLMRS Main Event win. The family run team from Tacoma, Washington will be looking to repeat their earlier success as they look to close out the 2008 LLMRS championship season on a high note. “We know we have some work left to do,” said McDougald, “but the last 2 tracks are ones we ran real good on earlier this year. PA is always one we look forward to, we’ve been fast there for a long time, and we just haven’t had the luck to go with it. Last time we found that luck, hopefully we still have some of it when we get back there.”

As the 2008 LLMRS championship season begins to wind down, the #68 HayWire Motorsports team set their sites on the championship chase, as they currently hold down the number 2 spot, trailing defending series champion John Boyatt. With only 2 races remaining, points will be at a premium, and mistakes will be costly. “We have a firm hold on that number 2 spot,” said McDougald, “I think we are good there. We need some help to reach John, he’s had another great season and he’s a bit ahead of us. But we know we can finish where we are. The focus will be on winning races, the rest will have to take care of itself.”

Look for the #68 KMB Design Groups / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Mauritsen Enterprises Toyota Camry to seek a repeat of the first visit to Port Angeles Speedway during the 2008 LLMRS championship season. And be sure to catch the #92 RPM Sales & Service / Old West Graphics / Ringers Gloves / KMB Design Groups / Mauritsen Enterprises Pontiac Grand Prix on the Whelen All-American series schedule at Evergreen Speedway.
