A belated Happy Father’s Day to all of you out there, especially mine.
I spent my Father’s Day displaying the #68 KMB design / Hargis Engineers / Print-NW / Ringers Gloves / Cornwell Tools Toyota Camry at the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett, Washington. A bit of a drive for us but well worth the trip. It was a typical day in the Northwest, a light misty rain falling all day.
It was just enough to keep the crowd to a minimum, but it is always fun to meet some race fans and some future racers and even more fun to meet the kids as they are out with their Dad for the day. A lot of photo taking, autograph signing and general discussions about race cars, rules and all that goes into it. The kids all love to sit in the car and the parents are always happy when you tell them the kids can climb in.
I also got to meet a few fellow racers I have only talked to on the internet, so that was a bonus too.
In the end it was a long day after a very long drive home in some really crappy traffic, but I am very happy I participated in this great event. I’m already looking forward to next year and hoping for better weather.
As for the car, we will get it unloaded soon and start looking into what happened in that rear end and then start planning on how we are putting it back together. Hopefully it isn’t too bad, but I think it isn’t too good either. We’ll keep you posted. In the mean time, there’s always Donny and the #29 Oldsmobile Cutlass to cheer for. If we can ever get this rain to stop. I thought it was summer now. . . .
Our site was down for a few days, sorry about that. Looks like there was some sort of glitch in the auto-renew feature from our web site host and they shut us down. Took me a bit to get it taken care of, but all is back to normal again. Well, if you could ever call it normal.
Every thing is back up and running, so make sure you get signed up for the NEWSLETTER, wander over to the STORE and get your favorite team gear, sign up to follow us on TWITTER or just have a look around and see what we are up to.
Thanks for being so patient.
Just kidding. . .
Since my wife (and her entire side of the family, including our son) is a drag racer, I thought I’d throw this out there for those of you who may be able to help out. Doug Herbert, drag racing legend and founder of B.R.A.K.E.S., is holding a fund raiser “Texas Hold-em” tournament (I have to wonder if they really play “Texas Hold-em” in Texas). So, go check out the web site http://www.putonthebrakes.com and do what you can to help teens be safer drivers. Trust me, we’re all in this together.
The hits just keep on coming! Busy, busy week this time!
Be sure to tune in to Northsound Racing 1380am tomorrow night, I get to be a guest again. For those outside the signal range, you can stream it live via the Internet at Northsound Radio’s web site. Just look for the “Listen Live” button near the top right.
Still continuing to add more items to the TEAM STORE. Be sure to stop by and pick up your new HayWire Racing beer stein or a cuddly teddy bear for your your girl as well as checking out the many other items we’ve added.
