Posting this one a bit early since I have a moment right now. :-/

This weekend will be the next to last points race for Donny in the #29 Street Stock at Southsound Speedway. We are looking to close this season out on a high note. We made some more changes to the car last weekend that we hope are moving in the right direction. The car looks a bit better, hopefully that will show on the track. I’d like to get Donny going a bit better as we near the end of this season. He has had some solid runs, but after that mechanical failure took his first heat race win away we are looking for justice.

I also need to check on the HayWire Racing World Headquarters and see how construction is going. They were suppose to start this week, so I think I’ll make use of this office I work in and get them on their toes. Stay tuned for more news on that topic!

Looking ahead on the calendar (I know, I need to do a few updates there), Donny still has the Dennis Smitham Memorial race and then the final points race before Tommy is planning to take the #29 car to Port Angeles for the Coors Light Twin-50s to cap off the season. That reminds me, I need to make a phone call. . .

Well, it’s raceday for the #68 Toyota Camry again. It’s been a while since the last one.

We spent a long evening yesterday getting the car scaled after completing our repairs of the rear end. It’s been a long time since we had the #68 Toyota Camry at the track and I am looking forward to returning to the drivers seat. I’d like to come away from this one with a solid finish, but really I’d just take a finish at this point. But a top-5 would be pretty cool. Tommy says we will put the car in the tech lane when this one is over, that’s a podium finish. I like the way he thinks.

Here we go again! It’s raceday here in the pacific northwest!

Finally, we have some great weather, the sun is  shining, it’s nice and warm. It’s about time! Today we head back to Southsound Speedway, the track that has pretty much kicked me in the teeth all season.  So I head back there looking for a little redemption. Donny has been doing very good over his last two races, so I’m hoping that maybe some of that will carry over into my car. The car seems like it will be great, once we get past all of it’s little quirks. It’s a little temperamental, but aren’t they all? The driver seems to need a little work still. But we will get there.

Today is also a Twin Main Event day. Having had the season I’ve had so far, I’m just looking to get through the night in one piece. Two races is even harder. So keep your fingers crossed. I need to have a decent night, my team deserves so much better than the results I’ve posted so far.

Here I am, trying to get back into the swing of things around here. It’s been a tough couple weeks for me both personally and with the race team. So I apologize for my lengthy delay in blogging.

First, I’ll just be quick and say that the personal side of things has been me dealing with the loss of my mother. Emotionally it’s a crazy rollercoaster, not to mention all the other things that need dealt with. I don’t want to go on and on here about it, I only mention it so you understand where I am right now both physically and mentally.

As for the race team, my emotional rollercoaster that is the whirlwind of my life has not dealt well with the rather sub-par opening to my season. So far I am looking at this weekend being 3 races and I’ve only made 2 laps. In the end, that is something I need to deal with and get back on track as soon as possible.

Now on to the good stuff. The team will be headed to Southsound Speedway this weekend with Donny and the #29 car. Hopefully Donny can get his season back on track as well after a rather trying start so far. Be sure to head to the track Saturday for a good night of racing and don’t forget to stop by the pits and say hi to the team after the racing is finished.

Man, where did everyone go? I’m sure some of you were asking that same question, right? Well, I’m still here, I’ve just been waiting to get my vision back. We had a bit of an accident in the shop last weekend that ended with me being blind for a little while. But I’m happy to report that I have my vision back, for the most part.

As for the update on the team, we are planning to attend the races at Southsound Speedway this weekend with both the #68 car and the #29 car as both me and Donny look to get our seasons back on track after a less than stellar opening race for each of us. I for one am looking forward to seeing what this new car will do with a clutch that works right. So be sure to catch this super-sized event as we take two cars to the track on the same day.
